So let’s take a look, shall we?

To the left we have the Link [Rider] amiibo, with Link on none other than his trusty steed, Epona. The splash art for both this and the Link [Archer] amiibo on the right share the same style that we saw in concept art that has been circulating since E3 2016.

An important detail this time around is that both amiibo seem to be supported by clear plastic this time around, as opposed to the colored plastics we saw commonly used in the Super Smash Bros. line of amiibo, which really helps the overall presentation. There also seems to be a fair amount of detail on the tunic on both the Rider and Archer versions, something that amiibo collectors will be happy about considering the lack of quality on other models such as the early Fire Emblem amiibo from the Super Smash Bros. line.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is still some time away – March to be exact – but these amiibo are certainly starting to take shape. With the Nintendo Switch gameplay shown off on Jimmy Fallon last night, and all the buildup toward Breath of the Wild, the Japan-based company is really working hard to push both this game and their next console.

Hopefully things work in their favor this time around.
