Ketchapp, an app developer that focuses on free-to-play mobile and tablet, has had its fair share of success with titles such as 2048, Stick Hero, Stack, and Jelly Jump. The publisher aims to create accessible and fun experiences for its millions of players and has accumulated nearly 700 million downloads since 2014.

The co-founders and directors of Ketchapp, Antoine and Michel Morcos, are both pleased to be joining the Ubisoft team. They said that they founded Ketchapp in order to create engaging gaming experiences. The co-founders believe the partnership with Ubisoft will allow them to do just that by giving the publisher access to resources to better their existing and upcoming titles.

Jean-Michel Detoc, executive director of Ubisoft’s mobile business, also expressed his satisfaction with the deal.

He also believes the acquisition will allow the company to reinforce its advertising abilities in the mobile gaming market.

The acquisition is expected to close in Ubisoft’s 2016-2017 third quarter.
