Unlocking the 100 Costumes

If you’re a perfectionist and want to unlock all 100 costumes available in Super Mario Maker, there are two options you have. Either you have to get the 100 amiibos and sync them with the game, or complete the “100 Mario Challenge Mode”. The amiibo option can be quite costly (going over $100), while the 100 Mario Challenge could prove to be a difficult route.

There are a ton of randomly selected user levels in the 100 Mario Challenge, with 100 lives available to complete them all. The levels are pulled from all over the world, and require the Wii U to have a connection to the Internet to use the costume unlocking mode. Without an internet connection, a “10 Mario Challenge” is available as a preview.

It’s good to remember that the costumes are only playable in the original Super Mario Bros. level setting, and aren’t available throughout the entire game.

What do you think of the costume option in Super Mario Maker? Is it a good feature? What costume are you looking forward to the most? Share your thoughts below!
